Class 12 Guide Privacy Policy

Effective 22 October 2026

Applies to the Class 12 Guide Android app (package com.nitsofts.classtwelve, formerly Class 12 English Notes) published by nitsofts.

Short version: Class 12 Guide has no accounts and no sign-up. The notes are built into the app and your progress stays on your phone. The app sends usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase so I can improve it. These never include your name, email address or anything you type.

1. What stays on your device

  • Your study data. Chapters you mark done, saved chapters, quiz scores and where you stopped reading in each subject are stored only on your phone.
  • Settings such as your stream, subject, theme and text size are stored locally.
  • Notes and papers are part of the app itself. Reading them does not send anything anywhere.
  • If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include this app data in your own Google account backup. That backup is controlled by you and Google, not by me.

2. What the app sends, and why

  • Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics). Which screens are opened, which subject and stream are chosen, chapters opened or completed, quizzes finished and their scores, past papers opened, search terms with the number of results, and settings such as theme and text size. Firebase also records standard details such as device model, Android version, approximate country and a random app-instance ID. I use this to see which chapters students rely on and which content is missing.
  • Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). If the app crashes, a report with the device model, Android version and technical details of the error is sent so the bug can be fixed.
  • Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging). The app registers a device token so it can receive occasional notices such as exam updates. On Android 13 and later it asks for permission first, and you can turn notifications off in Android settings at any time.
  • Updates and ratings (Google Play). The app checks Google Play for a newer version and may show Google Play’s own rating prompt. These are handled by Google Play.

3. Reports you send

When you use “Report a mistake” or “Report a problem”, the app opens your own email app with your message and the chapter it is about. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app. I then receive your email address and message, use them only to fix the problem and reply, and do not share them. The app records only that a report was started, never its text.

4. Advertising

The current version of the app shows no ads. If ads are introduced in a future version, they will be served by Google AdMob, never inside a chapter, quiz or answer, and this policy will be updated before that happens to explain what AdMob collects.

5. What I do not do

  • There is no account system and no login.
  • I do not collect your name, email address (except in reports you choose to send), phone number, contacts or precise location.
  • I do not sell or share personal data with anyone.
  • The app only asks for internet access, network state and, on Android 13 and later, permission to show notifications. It does not use the camera, microphone, contacts or location.

6. Third-party services

The services above are provided by Google, and how Google handles this data is covered by its own policies:

The “Join the Class 12 community” button opens a Viber group in the Viber app. Anything you share there is covered by Viber’s terms, not this policy.

7. Your choices

  • Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it deletes your progress and settings from the phone.
  • You can reset your device’s identifiers and turn off notifications in Android settings.
  • To ask about or delete data linked to a report you sent, email me at the address below.

8. Children

The app is made for Class 12 students and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with an updated effective date.
